How Do I Enrol My Child?

All children and families are welcome to apply for enrolment at one of our Catholic systemic schools in the Diocese of Broken Bay. We welcome enrolments from both Catholic and non-Catholic families who support the ethos of a Catholic education.

Enrolment Process

Catholic Schools Broken Bay welcomes our families to visit our schools during term time for tours or attend one of our school Open Days.

For Kindergarten enrolment, it is advisable to apply as early as possible in the year before your child commences school. Children enrolling in Kindergarten must reach age 5 by 31 July in the year of commencing school. Families wishing to apply for years 1-6, applications are considered throughout the year.

Catholic Schools Broken Bay offers a K – 12 education pathway. Enrolling from one of our primary to secondary schools is considered a new enrolment and is subject to our Enrolment Principles. The application period for secondary school usually commences when students are in Year 4. Whilst early application to our schools is encouraged, it does not guarantee placement.

To apply for one of our schools, please complete and submit the relevant enrolment application form below and submit with supporting documentation.

Please note submission of an application form does not guarantee placement in one of our schools. Where spaces are limited, preference is given based on the Catholic School Broken Bay Enrolment Principles (see above).

Supporting children with specific needs

Parents of students with disabilities and/or additional needs, who meet the criteria, are encouraged to contact one of our Catholic schools at least 12 months prior to enrolment to ensure that appropriate planning can be undertaken, and necessary resources are in place. Further details are found below.

What can I expect after the submission of an application?

Following receipt and assessment of your application, parents will be invited to attend an interview with the school Principal.

Orientation days for new students will be held in Term 3 or 4. Many schools also hold information nights for parents in Term 4 or Term 1 of the year of commencement.

School Fees

Please note that no child will be denied a Catholic education because of a family’s inability to pay fees, and financial support will be offered to families who need assistance. Please speak to your individual school should financial support be required.

Base School

Families wishing to register an expression of interest in the Eileen O’Connor Base School are encouraged to do so below.

Each school has an enrolment committee which includes the principal and a parish priest. Parents are usually interviewed by the principal and/or member of the enrolment committee before the enrolment is finalised. Documents needed at the interview include birth and baptismal certificates, immunisation records and passport if you are newly arrived in Australia.

Secondary schools may also require academic results or reports from the previous school, a reference from the parish priest and medical records.

Most schools have an orientation day in Term 4 for children starting school the following year. Many schools also hold information nights for parents in Term 4 or in Term 1 of the year of commencement.

No student is denied enrolment in a Catholic school purely on the basis of a genuine inability to pay fees and other charges. Principals have the discretion to reduce or waive tuition fees, building levies and other charges, in whole or part, for those families that can demonstrate they are experiencing genuine financial difficulties.
