EAL/D and New Arrivals

The Catholic Schools Office provides targeted support to schools with high numbers of students for whom English is an Additional Language or dialect (EAL/D).

Our specialist teachers work closely with classroom teachers to build their capacity in understanding and meeting the particular needs of EAL/D students. Specialist teachers generally hold the TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) qualification.

In the case of students newly arrived in Australia, targeted support that is tailored to individual needs may be provided. In certain cases, dependent on the entry visa of the applicant, an additional fee may be levied for this English language support. Please contact your local school for further details.

All schools in Broken Bay are strongly committed to celebrating and respecting cultural diversity.
